Homework is encouraged and forms part of the home-school partnership. Parents are a valuable means of support in consolidating school work; there is much that parents can do to help their children gain academic success.
In reception, year 1 and year 2, we ask parents to help their child to learn key words for reading, to read regularly with their child, to practise simple spelling rules and to play maths games.
In years 3 - 6, we ask parents to read regularly with their child as well as encouraging them to read independently. There will also be spelling rules to practise and multiplication tables to learn. Other homework will be research based. In years 5 and 6, worksheets to complete and hand in extend and support learning done at school, as well as building up good habits in preparation for the requirements and demands of secondary education.
